Production for the last 10 episodes of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars” season 7, which will ultimately conclude the series, just recently wrapped. The network also revealed that the two-hour finale will be followed by a tell-all special featuring the cast.
According to The Wrap, the aftershow will feature interviews with stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse. They will be joined by executive producer I. Marlene King. The special episode promises to answer fans’ questions and reveal behind-the-scenes secrets.
Freeform describes the installment as “a retrospective celebration of the past seven seasons.” It will also be a way for the cast, crew and fans to say goodbye to the beloved drama. The announcement for the tell-all special came just a day after the final day of filming.
In honor of the hit program, King wrote a note thanking everyone who worked hard to make the thriller series a success. The showrunner took to Cosmopolitan’s Instagram account to share her thoughts, saying, “When I call ‘cut’ on the very last scene, all five PLLs will be in the shot. Tears will be spilled, gifts will be exchanged, and final memories will be made. The most meaningful gift, however, is that we call ourselves ‘PLL Family’ because that is how much we mean to each other.”
The cast members also gave each other their bittersweet goodbye messages on social media. Ian Harding said that Hale, who plays his on-screen love interest Aria, made “every day of work a total joy.” He thanked her for putting up with his talkative personality and choice of songs. The actor also said that he will miss Hale tremendously.
Moreover, Bellisario stated that packing up her things from the dressing room that became her home for the past 7 years was not easy. Meanwhile, Benson gave a shoutout to the fans who have been with them since day one and stayed until the end.
Season 7 of “Pretty Little Liars” returns to the small screen in April 2017.
