'Pretty Little Liars' season 6b spoilers: new lives, new love and new villains await the girls

Expect a lot of surprises when “Pretty Little Liars” returns for the second half of season 6 as the show fast forwards to five years after the events of the last episode.

According to a report by Variety, the characters’ lives will undergo major changes that viewers need to watch out for.

One of the major spoilers revealed is that Hanna (Ashely Benson) will be engaged after she interns for Zac Posen and spends time in Europe. However, she will not be engaged to her love interest Caleb as she will meet her fianc during her time overseas.

Meanwhile, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) is gunning to make it big in Capitol Hills after spending years studying in Georgetown. On the other hand, Toby, her high school sweetheart, inherits a lot of money and chooses to continue living in a small town, which is far from the trajectory of where Spencer is headed.

Toby will, however, meet someone new who will become a very important part of his life.

Showrunner Marlene King also teased the biggest surprise when she revealed that aside from losing her dad, Emily (Shay Mitchell) will return with the biggest secret.

“I think that you three (Benson, Bellisario, Hale) create secrets in our first episode, but Emily comes back with a big secret, which we won’t spoil.”

Aria, on the other hand, will be seen working with her ex-boyfriend and teacher Ezra. However, like the other couples, they will no longer be together romantically, something that Ezra may be having trouble accepting.

Meanwhile, a report from IBTimes hinted that there will be a new villain, who will be causing problems for the girls.

“We can’t tell you what happens when we get back to Rosewood. However, the girls begin to, again, receive messages. They know it’s not from Charlotte, and this time it feels very different,” Ashley Benson said.

“Pretty Little Liars” returns for season 6B on Jan. 12 in ABC Family.
