Power Season 3: Kanan, Lobos, Julio to return; 50 Cent promises new season will be better than before


As Power gears to start production for the third season of the Starz hit show, the writers of the show have thrown a bone for fans excited to see what happens to the show and who will return.

The writers’ room Twitter account has already confirmed the return of Kanan, played by 50 Cent, Lobos, played by Enrique Murciano and Julio, played by JR Ramirez.

In her social media post, showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh, also teased the expected return of Ghost (Omari Harwick) and Tasha (Naturi Naughton), Bustle reported.

Agboh has been pretty transparent about her excitement for the new season, keeping fans updated about where the show is headed. In her recent interview with Madame Noire, she said: “I just pitched the Season 3 arc to the heads of PR and Marketing and their teams… Everyone was on the edge of their seats like ‘Oh, my God! No Way! You’re not going to f–king do that! Noooo!’ …They’ve been my only audience so far, but they’re pretty excited.”

A report from IBTimes indicated that the cast which includes Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton, Michael Rainey Jr and Donshea Hopkins and 50 Cent recently got together for their first table read for the season.

50 cent, who also doubles as executive producer of the show,  confirmed this by posting a photo on his Instagram, teasing an even better season. “POWER season3 will be even better. We are turning it up a notch.”

After the show managed to post record ratings for the cable channel, the network immediately ordered a ten-episode season 3 renewal, reportede Variety.

So far, there has been no confirmed official release date for the third season premiere but it is expected to follow the trend of the first two seasons which premiered in June 2014 and June 2015.
