The Pokmon Company and Nintendo recently unveiled new information regarding the upcoming and highly anticipated two new core Pokmon games in the game series, “Pokmon Sun” and Pokmon Moon.” The game would be featuring new starter Pokmon, a set of new Legendary Pokmon, a new region that the player trainer would be playing at, and even an all-new kind of Pokdex that has never been seen before.
As detailed by a recent blog post by Nintendo, part of the new things that the players should expect, before beginning their adventure in the new region of Alola, would be a new kind of Pokdex which will be introduced in “Pokmon Sun” and “Pokmon Moon.” This new Pokdex would be called the Rotom Pokdex.
The Rotom Pokdex is an ordinary Pokdex, just like any other kind of Pokdex that was given to players in the past games, only that it comes with something or someone more. This update gives the iconic gadget in the world of “Pokmon” a twist that makes gameplay more fun and easier.
The Rotom Pokdex is a Pokdex inhabited by the Pokmon named Rotom, thus the new namesake for the device. Rotom has the power to reside in electronic appliances and devices alike. Aside from recording Pokmon info, the Rotom Pokdex also gives the current location of the trainer and his or her next destination. The new Rotom Pokdex also provides advice to players on where they should be going next. The device formulates these suggestions based on the conversations players have with other characters.
Professor Kukui, the local professor in the Alola region, will be the one to provide players with the Rotom Pokdex.
“Pokmon Sun” and “Pokmon Moon” would be featuring Solgaleo and Lunala as the two new Legendary Pokmon for each game, respectively. The two new games would be released on Nov. 18, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS.
