Prepare to meet a new mythical Pokemon in the new Pokemon movie that will come out this year.
According to the Pokemon Company International, the new Pokemon will go by the name Magearna, an artificial Pokemon that was created by humans over half a century ago.
The Pokemon is heavy at 177.6 lbs but is very short at 3 feet and 3 inches and has a metallic body.
The report also shared the synopsis for the full length feature which will revolve around a mysterious force that binds Ash to the mythical Pokemon Volcanion when it falls from the sky. Because Volcanion cannot escape the force and Ash cannot separate himself from the Pokemon, he is forced to go with it to fulfill its mission.
Their journey takes them to a city of cogs and gears where they discover that a corrupt official has stolen Megearna, to use the artificial Pokemon to rule over the mechanical kingdom.
It can be recalled that Volcanion was initially introduced in the January 2016 issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Coro Coro Comics. Like Magearna, it is a mythical Pokemon. It is slightly heavier at 195 kg and stands at 5.5 feet tall. It is considered a steam Pokemon that has powers over both fire and water.
According to a report by IGN, the film will be directed by franchise director Kunihiko Yuyama and will feature returning cast members and characters Satoshi (Ash), Pikachu, Serena, Citron (Clemont), Eureka (Bonnie), Musashi (Jessie), Kojir? (James), Nyarth (Meowth), and the Narrator.
Last December, a teaser for the movie was already released along with two promotional posters for the film.
The film which will be titled “Pokmon the Movie XY & Z: Volcanion to Karakuri no Magearna” (Pokemon the Movie XY & Z: Volcanion and the Tricky Magearna) will open in Japan on July 16.
