“Pokmon Go” is one of the most anticipated releases from The Pokmon Company after having its concept unveiled a few months ago. A virtual game that enables fans to look for Pokmon in the real world through augmented reality, the idea surely ignites Pokmon lovers. However, fans are still waiting for the official word as to when the application will be released.
The Pokmon Company has joined together with Niantic, a startup company that has its origins from Google, to work on “Pokmon Go.” John Hanke, the founder of Niantic described the experience as “For the first time, Pokmon will roam free in the real world. Pokmon GO will allow players to capture Pokmon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world. Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower,” notes PC Advisor.
Along with this, another application, called “Pokmon Go Plus” is underway. This will serve as a complement for the application as the device can be brought along elsewhere similar to a wrist watch. Although “Pokmon Go” will be able to function without the device, “Pokmon Go Plus” serves as a handy device where the player can check the application at just a glance at the watch.
No official release date has been locked for the go-live of “Pokmon Go,” but rumors indicate that the application will come in 2016. Nonetheless, Realty Today reports that there is news going around about a possible release next month. Once launched, “Pokmon Go” will be available for both Android and iOS users.
In the meantime, fans can also turn their attention to the Pokmon gym set to open in Osaka two weeks from now. Although unrelated, it is another augmented reality experience that fans can enjoy, while learning more about “Pokmon.”
