Electronic Arts and PopCap Games have unveiled new features and details for the upcoming game, “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2” during this year’s Gamescom in Germany.
Aside from information shared during the first announcement in E3, a new trailer has been showcased about the gameplay called “Moon Base Z.” The two-minute long clip revealed that players may assault zombies from several angles on the surface of the moon when the zombies have taken hold of suburban base.
The successor to “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare” also features new characters and adventure storylines. A new mode called “Backyard Battleground” will allow players of up to four participants in total to finish daily challenges set by Dr. Zomboss and Crazy Dave. The mode also offers different activities to enjoy and may be accessed at the very start of the game.
EA also introduced three new plant characters called Rose, Colonel Corn and Citrod alongside three additional zombies which have unique abilities of their own. Due to high demands of game enthusiasts, a single player mode has also been incorporated.
While playing offline, there are also improvements using split-screen without the need to subscribe in Xbox Live or PS Plus.
Moreover, what may come as the biggest announcement for fans is the tie-up with RPG developer Bioware to create a feature similar to the third-person science-fiction game, “Mass Effect.”
The collaboration resulted to “Grass Effect Z7-Mech,” constructed by Dr. Zomboss in order to protect the Zomburia. A so-called Zomni-tool and “interlocking ceramic plate armor with kinetic padding” can be used to the advantage of tech and biotic abilities in generating greater damage.
The game is expected to launch sometime in 2016 across platforms for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Players may avail of a special Grass Effect Z7-Mech suit for Imp character if pre-order is made before the release date.
