Last week, Atlus finally released its highly anticipated title, “Persona 5,” and since then, the game has been a success as it has reportedly broken the series’ previous records in Japan.
Analytics organization Media Create (via Zam) reports that “Persona 5” sold 337,767 copies since its release on Sept. 15. This means that it exceeded the first week sales of every previous installment of the “Persona” series. The game has yet to be launched in the United States and Europe, but it is expected that the title will continue to bring in more revenue for Atlus when it hits the Western market next year.
Meanwhile, a new trailer featuring two cooperation characters has been released for “Persona 5.” The clip features the twin guards of the Velvet Room, Caroline and Justine.
According to Siliconera, while the twins might resemble each other physically, the two have very different personalities. Caroline seems to have something against the Phantom Thieves and is very critical of their ways, and she wants nothing more than for them to get arrested. She makes a habit of belittling the protagonist, and players can either play along with the selection of words in the game or give Caroline a taste of her own medicine.
Meanwhile, Justine is more gentle and soft-spoken than her twin sister, and she often supports the game’s protagonist. At times, she even sides with him and speaks up against Caroline in his defense.
In the trailer, the twins wear matching prison guard uniforms which consist of a black miniskirt, white knee socks, a fitted royal blue shirt buttoned all the way up to the collar, a thin black necktie, and a blue hat trimmed in black. Justine’s hat has the letters “O-Y-O-O” while Caroline’s hat has “X-M-R-N.” Put together, the words spell out “oxymoron.” Caroline wears an eye patch on her right eye and has her hair styled in a low bun, while Justine has her hair styled in a single braid and wears hers on her left eye.
“Persona 5” will be released in the United States and Europe on Feb. 14, 2017. The game is now available in Japan for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
