In just about two weeks, season 5 of “Person of Interest” will premiere with the first episode already given a title and some sneak peeks already shared for the upcoming season.
Titled “B.S.O.D.,” which means “Blue Screen of Death,” the first episode of the fifth run will pick up from the cliffhanger season 4 finale. Back in the conclusion of the previous installment, Finch (Michael Emerson) and Root (Amy Acker) were trying their best to save The Machine from the hands of the Samaritan. However, fans were left uncertain of what happened as it ended with a power surge.
In the episode premiere of the show, Finch will try to revive The Machine with the help of Reese (Jim Caviezel). It is still uncertain whether they will be able to repair it, as the problem of “blue screen” is oftentimes bad for a computer device, while the phrase “of death” added to describe it almost guarantees danger and troubles ahead.
The first episode of season 5 will also face the aftermath of the other circumstances faced in season 4. For instance, the Samaritan group killed Dominic (Winston Duke) and Elias (Enrico Colantoni) when they found out about “The Correction.” However, the matter will not easily pass, as Fusco (Kevin Chapman) will be interrogated about the death of the two. In addition, Root will also be chased by some members of the Samaritan.
“Person of Interest” season 5 will return to the small screen on May 3 at 10 P.M. EST on CBS.
The upcoming installment is also the final season of the American crime and drama television series. In an exclusive report from IGN, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman thanked the network, cast, crew, and other partners of the studio.
Most importantly, they showed their gratitude to the fans, “This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it’s been our great privilege to work on show for the past five seasons. We can’t wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter.”
