'Penny Dreadful' season 3 spoilers: Vanessa and Ethan reunite; new regular cast revealed

Showtime has started production of its third season for its phenomenal horror hit “Penny Dreadful” which will return to the small screen beginning on May 1<sup>st. It posted on its Facebook account, “If we are to continue, you must know how dangerous this is.”

In its official video titled “Penny Dreadful Season 3: In Production,” it features Harry Treadaway, who plays Victor Frankenstein, teasing, “We are in Ireland, shooting season three. I can tell you what’s going on, but I have to kill you, then I can reanimate you, but then I have to kill you again, and then I could reanimate you again, but then I have to kill you.”

The official trailer shows the anticipated reunion of Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) and Ethan Chandler (Josh Harnett). It also shows Ethan on a journey to the Dark Continent, surpassing challenges to be reunited with his love.

These quotes were also heard uttered in the trailer: “I’ve conquered death.” “Do you think you’ve never sinned?” “I wrote the bloody book!” “I walk in blood every step.” “I have been touched by Satan.” Quotes which promise horrifying and bloody episodes to come.

Showtime also released a sneak peek video where Vanessa is seen alone inside a white walled room, looking insane, somewhat narrating her bad experiences, but then in the end, she is shown fighting with a man in the same room.

There is also a scene with Ethan as he is transforming into a werewolf, teasing the episodes will still highlight his identity.

The trailer also showed a glimpse of zombies trying to break through a glass window.

Deadline reported that there are three new regular cast members joining this season: Patti LuPone, playing the role of Dr. Seward, the American therapist who treats Vanessa in an odd method; Wes Studi, playing the role of Kaetenay, the enigmatic Native American who is very close to Ethan; and Shazad Latif, playing the role of Dr. Jekyll.

Watch out for the third season of “Penny Dreadful” every Sunday, at 10 P.M. beginning on May 1.
