ISIS news today 2015: Iraqi jet accidentally drops bomb on Baghdad, kills 12

Beloved by fans for being gruesomely macabre and spine chilling, the future looks even more so for Eva Green’s Vanessa Ives on Showtime’s Penny Dreadful Season 2.

According to Ecumenical News, a recent promo clip for Episode 6 entitled “Glorious Horrors,” may well be the indication of what the characters will go through as Dorian invites the troupe to a lavish ball held in Angelique’s honor.

Based on the clip, the relationship between Evelyn and Sir Malcolm will further be developed as Vanessa is seen telling the woman that she has quite an effect on the gentleman. While the pairing has not been very well received by the British fans of the show, it seems the producers are not quite ready to let the storyline go.

More trouble brews as Ethan is hunted down by Roper, Lavinia Putney has a disturbing encounter with The Creature, and Vanessa is left with no choice but to deliver tragic news to Sir Malcolm.

Indeed,’s description of the episode does not bode well for Vanessa “a glorious night turns to horror for Vanessa.”

So far, the first half of the season has received a 100 percent fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics and a 95 percent fresh rating from its users.

“Penny Dreadful’s second season maintains the show’s intense, bloody drama, utilizing a vast array of fascinating characters and locales to tell a unique story,” the site’s consensus stated.

The show’s second season also received 8.5 on Metacritic’s user score and 77 percent on its Metascore.

“The sly second season of Penny Dreadful finds its drama in characters trying to shake shameful pasts that won’t stop haunting them, and finds rich menace in cunning folk and shape-shifting spirits who make thralls and puppets out of our heroes, robbing them of authenticity and self-determination,” Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen said.

Penny Dreadful airs every Sunday at 10 pm on Showtime.
