The wait for the third season of BBC Two’s hit gangster drama series “Peaky Blinders” is almost over, with the air date scheduled sometime in May.
According to Macclesfield Express, the world premiere of the show based on the historic gang who wore razor blades in their caps will take place in London’s BFI on May 3, to be followed by the release in the network later in the month.
The first official family portrait featuring the Shelbys was also released. The photo featured ruthless boss Brummy Don Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and the new character Linda Shelby (Kate Phillips) who is believed to be Arthur’s (Paul Anderson) wife.
When it comes to the plot, Natasha O’Keeffe, who portrays Lizzie Stark, teased that the upcoming installment will be “crazy,” sharing that it will be the best season yet. “I am going to be biased. I think it goes to some crazy places, crazy levels. It’s definitely one worth tuning in for.”
O’Keeffe further hinted on her character’s growing role in the narrative when she became secretary to Tommy in season 2. She revealed that she was surprised upon her return. “For me, it started off as such a small part in the first series and there was no mention of this character until she was written back in in the successive two – that was amazing,” she elaborated.
“I’m actually a big fan of the show myself, it’s top-notch music, the cinematography. I absolutely love it. I think the writing is great,” O’Keeffe added.
Fans who may want to attend the red carpet screening on May 4 in Birmingham, following the premiere at BFI, can get tickets which are now available for random draw slots. Registration is open for those who want to participate until Sunday, April 17. Seventy percent will go to Birmingham postcodes and residents of West Midlands, while 30 percent for the rest of the United Kingdom.
Selected fans are encouraged to dress up in 1920s costume attire for the event which will be attended by the stars of the show such as Murphy, Anderson, and Johnny Dogs.
