Outlander season two will continue dealing with the conflict between Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) from what was left off from the first season.
Aside from dealing with the trauma with Black Jack, Jamie Fraser and his wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe), will have to go stop Charles Stuart (Andrew Gower) from leading a rebellion against England. The couple will have to penetrate the French court if they want to make their mark. “Jamie throws himself into playing the political game whole-heartedly but he does not relish it,” Heughan said in Fashion & Style. However, Claire does not tolerate the French court as easily as Jamie.
Meanwhile, fans may also get to see more love building between the couple as they pursue their quest. “The idea they have of changing the future, she uses it like a mission and something for Jamie to put his focus and energy into so he’s not dwelling on what’s happened. In a way she sacrificed herself a little bit because she’s dealing with her pregnancy on her own in a way,” he said, according to the Daily Record UK and added that “They are going through a very complicated time in their relationship. It’s not an easy time for them, but it’s beautiful to watch how they figure out a way to support each other.”
Season 2 of Outlander has also started its shooting, expecting to have at least 13 episodes in the next installment and most of the scenes set in Paris, France. To portray the Paris glamour, season 2 costumes are expected to showcase more colors compared to the relatively neutral and earthy colors in the season 1 outfits. It is reported that the showrunner’s wife, Terry Dresbach, will oversee the wardrobe makeover.
Outlander is a British-American drama fantasy series based on historical time travel and adapted from the book written by Diana Gabaldon. The second installment will also be basing its story on Gabaldon’s second book, Dragonfly in Amber.
