'Outlander' season 2 news: Filming is almost done, casting call for Brianna has officially begun

Starz-produced historical drama “Outlander” is said to be almost done filming scenes for its sophomore season. Although no confirmed date yet on when the show will be back on air has been announced, fans are already excited about the new season.

This is good news for the legion of supporters that the show has accumulated through its debut season last year. Dubbed as “Droughtlander,” production was very silent, therefore making fans worry about the future of the show.

Fortunately, it seemed like the lack of information about the show did not equate to it having internal problems as Diana Gabaldon chalked up the delay to difficult filming situations specially because season 2 will see Claire (Caitrona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) travelling all over Europe.

Furthermore, some photos were released online via the show’s official Facebook page revealing high-end sets showing fine dining and glitzy parties. From previous reports, the second season’s plot will revolve around Claire and Jamie hunting Prince Charles in the hopes of preventing the Jacobites’ rebellion and eventually stop the Culloden Moor killing.

On top of that, the couple will also be dealing with the arrival of their daughter Brianna, who has not been cast yet. A casting call has already been made, so fans can look forward to the news soon. Other characters already have their respective actors like Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day) and Prince Charles (Andrew Gower).
