During the red carpet interview at the Critic’s Choice TV Awards earlier today, Lorraine Toussaint who plays inmate “Vee” in Netflix’s hit comedy-drama show, “Orange is the New Black,” hinted that she might reprise her role for the new season.
As reported by Bustle, when an interviewer asked Toussaint if she would miss the other women in the series, she said that, “I miss the girls enormously, but did I say I’m not back?”
With only two weeks left before the new episode premieres on June 12, this is exciting news for fans.
During the season-ender, Vee was escaping Litchfield Penitentiary, only to be hit by the prison van driven by Rosa. Uzo Abuda, who plays Crazy Eyes, first mentioned that viewers will get their answers on whether Vee survived or not in season three, iSchool Guide reports.
Among other characters returning are Alex, played by Laura Prepon which is seen in the new trailer talking to Piper, portrayed by Taylor Schilling. The sneak peak revealed that Piper is responsible for Alex going back inside the prison. While Lori Petty’s role as Lolly, will be getting a regular on-screen time since she is a big part of the trailer and could play as one of the new antagonist, Popsugar reports. It also showed the character of Natasha Lyonne, Nicky, to have gotten out of the prison.
One of the main new plots is the casting of Ruby Rose as Stella who is rumored to play in a love triangle between Piper and Alex. The trailer also showed her winking at Piper. However, Schilling did not confirm nor deny the speculation.
According to Cinema Blend, new additions to the members of the cast include Mike Birbiglia, Blair Brown, Marsha Stephanie Blake and Mary Steenburgen. Another character based on Martha Stewart will also be introduced, however, who will play the said role is still undisclosed.
The show is renewed for season four which will air in 2016.
