OnePlus Two Specs And Release Date: Announcement expected in July

The Chinese manufacturing company, One Plus is expected to announce the details of its next phone One Plus Two, after leaked images appear online.

An official looking image was leaked online, according to a report by Geek Snack, which revealed that the photo may be of a prototype device that was tested last year. However, these images only indicate that the device will be announced soon.

According to a report by IB Times, the device will be announced at a press conference, some time around next month.

Carl Pei, the chief executive officer of OnePlus has already confirmed that the device will be announced in the second or third quarter of the financial year, while another report from a Chinese publication suggests that the announcement date is set for July.

The device will be called One Plus One A2001, since the code for the former version of the phone was One Plus One A0001. Also, the new phone is expected to carry a lot of improved and new specifications compared to the previous version.

The new version is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3 GB of RAM, which will run on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop mobile operating system and there are also reports that the new version would not get a CyanogenMod version. Instead, the company has developed its own version, which will be called Oxygen OS.

The phone is expected to have a 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution, along with 5.5-inch display. The device is set to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and is expected to have a 3 GB of RAM a 13 megapixel camera rear camera, although it is expected to be improved.

According to Geenbench Browser, the phone is priced at about $440, similar to the previous version. The report also suggested that the new version of the phone received a score of 1256 for single-core and 4093 for multi-core.

The device will not go through a complete makeover this time around. Instead, it will be an updated version of the well-received OnePlus One. The phone will flaunt 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution, but the display size has not been confirmed yet. Phone Arena has suggested, however, that the same 5.5-inch display seen in the predecessor will be maintained in the successor as well. The company has reportedly acknowledged that not many users are interested in purchasing gigantic displays.
