Rumors have it that Chinese startup company is gearing up to unveil “OnePlus X” speculated to be the “OnePlus Mini” on October 29.
According to PC Advisor, OnePlus will hold a special event on the aforementioned date as suggested by a social media teaser they reportedly published showing an “X” sign over a map that seemingly tracked the distance of 2.9 kilometers.
Another image depicts what could be fluorescent lights forming the X symbol, accompanied by the hashtag “#PowerfullyBeautiful” and captioned with “See you October 29, London.”
Although it has not been confirmed that it will be the awaited OnePlus Mini, co-founder Carl Pei previously mentioned that they will be releasing another device before the year ends, hopefully by Christmas season.
Since the recently launched OnePlus 2 has the dimensions of a phablet, reports claim that the logical next-in-line gadget will be something smaller in size, presumably to cater for the market that looks for mid-range phones.
When it comes to specifications, it is assumed that the display may feature 5-inch screen in full high definition resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels at 441 pixel-per-inch density. The back camera may boast 13-megapixel Sony lens with aperture of f/2.0 and has dual-LED flash. The front one may have the capacity of 5-megapixel.
Under the hood, mixed reports claim that it may be powered by either MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz or by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.26GHz. It may also be combined with 2GB to 3GB of RAM.
Moreover, the built-in storage may have the base memory of 16GB or a higher 32GB, which may be expandable via a memory card slot. The battery is predicted to have a life of between 3,000mAh to 3,100mAh and can be charged using USB Type-C port.
The software supporting the device is predicted to be Android 5.1.1 with the integration of OnePlus OS implementation.
It remains to be seen how much a unit would retail when it does launch this month.
