Predictions suggest that the upcoming next-generation device, the OnePlus 3T, could be the benchmark smartphone for 2017 as it will be the first device to be equipped with 8 GB of random access memory (RAM).
According to Phone Arena, the updated version of the OnePlus 3 is deemed to be equipped with impressive features. It can be recalled that its predecessor has been one of the consumers’ favorites with its already powerful 6 GB of RAM but the new addition to the line appears to be more impressive.
Aside from the aforementioned specs, it may also be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35 GHz. It is also rumored to have the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box for an enhanced and flawless performance. However, others believe that it will only have Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the company’s head of software Brian Yoon hinted that Nougat for their gadgets is still in beta version.
Android Authority shares that the OnePlus 3T will have a Sony IMX395 sensor while internal storage will be a spacious 128 GB. The handset will allegedly have a 3,300 mAh battery for longer use. The smartphone will also apparently boast of an all-new 16-megapixel main camera, as well as an AMOLED display rather than an LCD screen for brighter and crisper visuals.
The handset could have a starting price of $479 which makes it the most expensive offering from the China-based company to date. The current OnePlus 3 can be purchased for $399. However, since OnePlus has yet to officially confirm the device, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.
The OnePlus 3T is expected to be unveiled on Nov. 15. The company took to its official Twitter account to announce the good news with the prescheduled time of release at 1 p.m. EST. Founder Carl Pei also shared a cryptic tweet that reads “1+3=37” which had fans speculating that the numbers “1337” may be gamer speak for “leet” which could be shorthand for elite.
