A new report claimed that an alleged OnePlus employee revealed the company’s plans for the upcoming flagshipcalled in the rumor mill as the OnePlus 3which include specifications, variants, and possible prices.
According to new Gizmo China, an anonymous tip from an alleged OnePlus employee revealed the launch price of the upcoming flagship. The OnePlus 3 might be sold to fans at 1,999 Yuan or $310.
To recall, the current flagship, the OnePlus 2, was launched with a starting price of $295 and was exclusive back then to selected people with invites to buy the device.
As for whether the invite system for the two previous flagships will still be implemented for the OnePlus 3, the source was not able to confirm it. The OnePlus 2 started out as an invite-only purchase, but later had flash open sales and is now available for open purchase.
Additionally, the source revealed that the company is planning to release at least two different variants of the upcoming flagship, differing from each other in terms of RAM and inteernal storage with both devices running on the same QUALCOMM Snapdragon 820 chipset. The first one sports 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in internal storage capacity, while the other will allegedly have a massive 6GB RAM and 64GB built-in internal storage.
The more premium version will be priced higher than the standard one, but the price difference between the two was not detailed as of the moment.
OnePlus is yet to announce a release window for the OnePlus 3.
