Right now, Madhouse has yet to release any official details regarding the plot for the second season of “One Punch Man.” However, the anime series has been quite loyal to the source material written by creator One, so fans can expect the show to follow the storyline featured in the webcomic.
Reports say Saitama will finally face Garou in “One-Punch Man” season 2. The villain appeared briefly in season 1 episode 10 when Bang was telling Saitama and Genos about how his former student went rogue.
Garou is actually an intriguing opponent for Saitama because they are practically polar opposites. Saitama always wanted to be a hero, and Garou wants to be the person who’s strong enough to defeat any hero. Garou is also a fighting prodigy, while Saitama doesn’t know any technique at all. Despite lacking technique, Saitama’s punch does pack a lot of power, so he probably doesn’t need to learn any moves anyway.
However, Garou isn’t the only villain Saitama will face in the upcoming season. Sources say the villain will also team up with the Monster Association as they attempt to take down the Hero Association. Some even believe that Saitama will finally taste defeat at the hands of the combined forces of Garou and the Monster Association. This, however, remains to be seen since Saitama can defeat his opponents with a single punch.
Sources also say that Dr. Bofoi, who is also known as the Metal Knight, may become a villain next season. Will the anime makers deviate from the source material and make him a villain?
It should be noted that plot details for the upcoming season are not revealed yet, so readers are advised to take everything with a pinch of salt.
Meanwhile, sources say “One Punch Man” season 2 will air in mid-2017. The season will consist of 12 episodes just like the first season.
