With the release date of season 2 of “One Punch Man” still unknown, rumors and speculations continue to float online.

One of the more intriguing items that recently swirled online was a doodle coming from the show’s creator, ONE. Via his Twitter account, ONE showed off a black and white drawing of Saitama with a blood dripping from his glove.

The image came without any caption, which led fans to speculate on what the drawing could possibly mean. One of the rumors suggested that the image could be tied to Saitama’s possible encounters in season 2. A report from Blasting News said that the protagonist could face multiple villains.

Some speculate that the bald hero will take on opponents from the Monsters Association. Led by Gyoro Gyoro, the group of mysterious beings has the power to equal that of Saitama. With their strength, the group can definitely give the latter a serious challenge. ONE’s doodle could possibly depict a scene after Saitama takes on the dangerous group.

Another interesting plot that season 2 will feature explains the origins of Saitama’s powers. A report from Inverse said that the new season will turn the spotlight on how the hero acquired his godlike abilities. The manga version of “One Punch Man” doesn’t dive deep into his powers’ origins. Therefore, some expect that the anime will take on a different path and reveal more to the fans.

Another possible plot involves the identity of Saitama’s real father. Blasting News also mentioned the rumors that Blast from season 1 could actually be the hero’s father. Blast seems to notably have a similar power to that of Saitama. This could explain the latter’s superhuman powers.

A definite air date for season 2 has not been announced. However, it is likely that the anime will resume sometime in 2018. What’s certain is that production already started last March.
