The U.S. premiere of the first season of “One Punch Man” caused a sensation this year, and now, fans are eagerly waiting for season 2 of the anime to debut.
It was previously rumored that “One Punch Man” season 2 was going to be released in December, but recent reports claim that the new installment could possibly air this month. However, according to Bitbag, it was clarified that a season 2 announcement would be made in September and that the new season won’t debut anytime this month.
If the show does get an official season 2 announcement this month, then it’s possible that viewers won’t get to see new episodes right away and that the new season could debut in December at the earliest. However, there’s also the possibility that Madhouse studio will choose to air season 2 in October, just like it did for the anime’s freshman run.
The anime first aired season 1 in Japan from October to December 2015, and anime fans in Asia have been waiting for almost a year for the show to return. It was reported that digital manga creator Yusuke Murata has been putting in extra effort to finish the new installment in time, but Murata has yet to give an update on where he is regarding the new season’s progress.
Earlier this year, there was speculation that there may not be enough content in the manga to craft a 12-episode season, and it was claimed that season 2 might deviate from its source material and have brand-new story arcs instead. For the new season, it has been speculated that other than having epic fights against new enemies, the show’s protagonist, Saitama, could possibly have a love interest. It was also rumored that Saitama could be part of a new love triangle which involves two female members of the Hero Association.
