Fans are now patiently anticipating the return of the C-class hero Saitama and the rest of his crew as the showrunners of the hit anime “One Punch Man” have confirmed its sophomore season.
The word on the street is that the show could be veering away from the manga version and the anime adaptation may eventually produce a different story arc. There is talk that “One Punch Man” season 2 will be featuring more antagonists, as well as the return of other opponents. This includes alien conqueror Lord Boros who is the leader of an alien gang that threatened the planet during the previous season.
It was also rumored that the Saitama’s friend, Genos, could be testing his senior’s strength once yet again in the upcoming season. Genos is also speculated to be switching sides and may battle it out against his teacher.
Another possible returning foe next season is Garou. He is one of the enemies that Saitama faced that was able to survive his crushing punches.
Apart from this, there are also fan theories suggesting that next season might showcase Saitama’s emergence and how he came to be the hero that he is now. Moreover, it is speculated that the upcoming installment might feature the hero’s well-kept fears and the source of his seemingly unlimited strength and stamina. It is also said that next season could be a bit serious as compared to the previous season since it was aforementioned that Saitama could be pre-occupied with enemies that will try to tear him apart.
As of late, nothing official has been disclosed about the anime’s much-awaited release. Nevertheless, many are now placing their bets that “One Punch Man” season 2 could be released early next year.
