The life of lead character, Saitama, was the focus of the first season of hit anime series, “One Punch Man,” and now that a second installment is gaining traction, fans are eagerly awaiting more official news to come out, particularly on rumors that the new season will be offering more episodes than the first one.

Rumors have it that “One Punch Man” season 2 will be made up of 12 episodes, which is pretty much the same to that of the first season. However, it could be more than that should the manga adaptation decide to cover several story arcs other than Saitama doing battles and ending every single one of them with one punch.

Meanwhile, one report speculated that Saitama will eventually meet and face someone in the second season who is as strong as him, which means viewers will finally have a chance to see the main protagonist go up in battle with a serious challenger. The report further explained that it makes perfect sense if a new foe is introduced in the upcoming season so as to finally give Saitama the chance to curb his boredom of always winning his battles.

To recall, it was Garou who came the closest to threatening Saitama in season one and rumors started spreading that it was him who could defeat the strongest man in the world once they do battle once again.

But the one thing viewers want to find out in the new season is if Saitama finally feels the pressure of facing defeat. The entire first season showcased his lack of fear and abundance of confidence on his strength, to a point that he already craved for a more difficult challenge. Will he finally get one in season 2?

The second season of “One Punch Man” is rumored for a return in the fall.
