It has been a year since “One Punch Man” aired its season 1 finale, and fans have been waiting for any update about season 2 of the anime. However, there has been no news about a season 2 renewal, and so far, only speculations about the new installment’s plot have been making the rounds online. But this weekend, there is a big chance that fans might finally hear something about the new season as the cast and theme song performers are set to appear at an event.
According to Crunchyroll, the cast of “One Punch Man,” namely Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa, Yuki Kaji, Aoi Yuki, and Saori Hayami, along with theme song performers JAM Project and Hiroko Moriguchi, will be reuniting at a fall festival event on Sept. 25. Though it is unknown whether an announcement will be made about “One Punch Man” season 2, the gathering appears to be the most likely setting to make things official for the next installment of the hit animated show.
In anticipation of the event, Good Smile Company has launched pre-orders for a Nendoroid a collectible plastic figure of “One Punch Man” character Tatsumaki. In the anime, Tatsumaki is an S-Class Rank 2 superhero. The collectible figure has a calm and rather mysterious expression as well as a combat expression for battle scenes. The Tatsumaki Nendoroid has green hair that comes with an interchangeable version to make the figure look more mussed after using her esper abilities. It also comes with some debris to control with her psychic powers, allowing one to recreate Tatsumaki’s psychic action scenes from the series. This is the third “One Punch Man” Nendoroid after Saitama and Genos, which went on sale last year.
It was rumored that season 2 might see protagonist Saitama having a love interest, and it was also speculated that he might be part of a love triangle.
Stay tuned for more news about season 2 of “One Punch Man.”
