The long wait is finally over and fans of the massively popular anime series, “One Punch Man” will no doubt rejoice upon hearing the news that a second season has been officially confirmed; not only that, there even is a counterpart mobile game to go with the 2017 air date.

As reported by Comicbook, the new season was confirmed during the recently held “One Punch Mall Fall Festival,” where a promotional image was showcased, and as expected, it is highlighted by an image of a fist with red and yellow accent colors.

The creators of the series could have opted to provide more details including the exact air date or maybe a teaser of some sort. Nevertheless, any information that leads to the confirmation of a new season is more than enough for avid fans of the anime adaptation of the manga series to refuel the excitement after a year of waiting.

“One Punch Man” tells the story of Saitama, a unique individual living in a chaotic world. As the title of the series suggests, he has a superbly powerful punch that he uses in order to defeat enemies and rivals. As the hero of a place called Z-City, he hasn’t, at least for now, faced any adversary that threatened him seriously and his single punch always does the job every battle.

The concept of the first season revolved around Saitama’s growing boredom in fighting, mainly because he no longer finds villains challenging enough. But based on the rumors for the second season, fans believe that he may finally meet his match.

Madhouse was the one who initiated the idea of making an anime adaptation of the popular manga series. After debuting last year, feedback was primarily positive, including those from critics. The consensus thought at that time was that “One Punch Man” ideally combined action and humor, to a point that the subsequent release in the United States made it successfully expand its viewership.
