Game publisher Bandai Namco has revealed an upcoming mobile game based on the popular manga series “One Piece.” The upcoming game, called “One Piece: Bounty Rush,” will include a unique battle system that features four-versus-four action.
The publisher unveiled the upcoming game through an announcement trailer. The minute-long teaser includes gameplay footage that shows the franchise’s characters fighting while collecting gold coins.
The team battle is a four-versus-four affair. Players will be split into two teams and dropped into the selected stage. There, they will fight and collect Bellies. The team that obtains the most number of Bellies will be declared the winner.
There are also different classes for the characters in “One Piece: Bounty Rush.” These classes will dictate the role that they will play during the combat. There are shooters, fighters, supporters and swordsmen. These different roles will provide for more interesting interactions and battle strategies.
The upcoming smartphone game will be a free-to-play title for both iOS and Android devices. Once launched, the title will include microtransactions within the game.
“One Piece: Bounty Rush” is set to be released in Japan in 2018. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been revealed when the game will make its way to the United States and other international markets.
In related news, the open world adventure video game “One Piece: World Seeker” will be arriving to the Americas and Europe in 2018. The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
“One Piece: World Seeker” celebrates the 20th anniversary of the manga series. It is expected to be one of the biggest video game titles in the franchise. In the game, players take on the role of central character Luffy to explore various locations and embark on exciting adventures. Players will take on different quests that will test their abilities and fighting skills.
