One Direction news: The Beatles' Ringo Starr doesn't understand why band members are going on a hiatus next year

British boy band One Direction has been headlining the news this year from the exit of one member, to the confirmed fatherhood of another and now the announcement that they will take a break next year after the promotion of their fifth album.

This sparked speculations among the diehard fans that the remaining four singers will follow the footsteps of Zayn Malik after he signed a record deal with RCA to launch his solo career.

However, Niall Horan broke their silence and straightened the record as he tweeted, “Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year. Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve ! Can’t wait for you to hear all the new music we have for you and to perform. Some new songs as the tor continues! Love you all xx”

The group which recently had four tours around the globe will reportedly venture into different fields of their own personal interest during their hiatus.

Liam Payne also voiced out his thoughts saying, “So glad everything has been cleared up today and ur support with it is amazing not that we could ever expect anything less your amazing. Can’t wait to put more time into everything we do and coming out with something great. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us it’s been the most amazing five years and there’s so much more to come.”

Louis Tomlinson also appeased fans and reiterated that “it’s just a break” and they are not going anywhere.

Meanwhile, original band member of the iconic The Beatles Ringo Starr commented that he does not understand why One Direction have to take a “holiday.”

In an interview with ITV London for the launch of his new book, he said that he loved being in The Beatles and at the height of their fame, they never needed to take a break. He added that they just “kept on going” and if they were exhausted from their schedules, they would just “retreat in the studio.”
