One Direction news: Simon Cowell backs the group against Zayn Malik; Liam releases solo single after group's hiatus

British pop sensation One Direction has already entered their self imposed hiatus after some sort of a roller coaster ride since they came into the scene in 2010. Furthermore, the ride has been more violent this year as the boys experienced every drop, loop, and snake turn imaginable from Zayn Malik leaving the band to releasing new music titled “Made in the A.M.” up to what they call a much needed “rest.”

The band’s producer, Simon Cowell, recently backed the boys up in the middle of what seems to be a feud against Malik after the latter discredited the band’s kind of music.

“I think once he has had a chance to reflect on everything he will probably reconsider what he’s said because it was a very, very democratic process in the band. It is a bit rude to the people who wrote all the hits with them. And to the other band members. I mean they all wrote a lot of the stuff,” the popular talent manager.

“To be honest I don’t even think about it too much because as soon as he left we sorted him out with a label who really were enthusiastic about him and then my loyalty was back with the boys. They had no warning. Not that they needed me but I wanted to show that I was there for them and that they could continue without him and they did,” Simon added.

It can be remembered that the former member had a few negative things to say about One Direction in his first interview after leaving the group. He even said that even from the get go, he already knew that he will be leaving the group.

On the other hand, the boys of One Direction seem to be doing just well after entering their hiatus with Liam Payne leading the way in developing their solo careers with a newly released single titled “Home Town.”
