Nintendo’s success brought about by its launching of the Switch console last March continues to open door to new gimmicks that aim to attract more gamers. This time, Nintendo of Japan comes out with a themed package that is marked with a colorful vibe.
The gaming giant announced that a Nintendo Switch bundle that is “Splatoon 2”-themed will come out in Japan in July. The bundle comes with a copy of the “Splatoon 2” video game. It also features accessories like a themed carrying case covered in squid graphics and the Joy-Con in pink and green.
Nintendo of Japan also posted on Twitter a detailed look of the bundle and all of its accessories. The carrying case features four divider parts that can be adjusted. It also featured a pair of zippers that come with two neon-colored squids. These will also come in green and pink.
Meanwhile, a report from the Verge confirmed that a colorful Joy-Con will also arrive in the U.S. A yellow-colored Joy-Con will arrive in June. This coincides with the release of the “Arms” video game. Apart from the bundle, three types of themed multi-pouches will also roll out on July 21.
One is a yellow pouch designed after the said video game. The other sports a black and white image of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” The third is a multi-colored pouch that is “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”-themed.
For gamers asking why there are no bundles being sold in the U.S., Nintendo clarified earlier this year that it wanted gamers from the U.S. market to have the freedom to choose the games that they want.
“We look at every launch uniquely as to what’s the right thing to do for that launch,” said Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with Gamespot last January. He also noted that a $349 or $399 price point may not be suitable for the U.S. market.
