With just days before the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2017, Nintendo revealed its lineup of games for the annual spectacle.
A post from Nintendo’s official website confirmed that “Super Mario Odyssey” will headline the gaming company’s showcase. The company will preview a playable version of the game roughly three months before its launch in October.
Aside from “Super Mario Odyssey,” several other titles will reportedly make some noise in the SDCC this week. Nintendo will also preview playable versions of “Mario + Rabbids,” as well as the “Splatoon 2” game. Moreover, the event will feature the previously unreleased “Project Mekuru” game. Nintendo will also showcase a new multiplayer title, “Flip Wars.”
In addition, attendees can also try out Nintendo 3DS games on the brand new Nintendo 2DS XL, according to IGN.
“The San Diego ballroom of the Marriott Marquis & Marina will be transformed into a colorful Nintendo paradise – perfect for taking amazing photos and playing some great games starring some of Nintendo’s most recognizable characters!,” said Nintendo in the post.
Furthermore, attendees will also get the chance to join competitions, and see the upcoming Super NES Classic Edition console. “Bringing our games and experiences directly to the fans is very important to us,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Since San Diego Comic-Con is full of so many Nintendo fans of all ages, it’s the perfect place to let everyone enjoy many of our upcoming games,” Bowser added.
Those who want to try “Super Mario Odyssey” may do so at the Nintendo Booth in the San Diego Convention Center. As for the other games, they will all be showcased in the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina space.
The San Diego Comic-Con starts on July 20 and will run until July 23. The convention features multi-genre comic and entertainment companies. The event takes place every year during summer.
