Nintendo NX specs rumors: 6GB to 8GB RAM, 4K resolution, believed to be coming with Nintendo NX

The public is already aware that Nintendo is gearing up for the release of a new console, referred to as Nintendo NX. However, the details regarding the upcoming gaming platform are mostly speculations and rumors, as the company has remained quiet on sharing more specific information about it.

Rumors loom and continue to mount regarding Nintendo NX. One Reddit user named UntypedHero leaked in a post some of the specifications that may come with the long-awaited console. Nintendo NX will reportedly be coming with a DDR4 memory ranging from 6GB to 8GB and with a still unspecified AMD chip for its graphics. Aside from this, the upcoming console might be giving a 4K resolution output.

The Nintendo NX is rumored to come in two parts, where users can play it both inside their house and on-the-go. As for its cost, the upcoming platform is believed to play around $400, as the earlier consoles were already at the range of $200 to $300.

No release date has been pinned down by Nintendo except for “2016.” Some believe that it will be announced through a Nintendo Direct online video stream sometime this first half of the year.

Nonetheless, as with any rumors, fans will have to take the information with a grain of salt, as no official statement has been released by the company regarding this.

One of the few things that is sure about Nintendo NX is that it will not be a follow-up of the Wii and Wii U consoles. In an interview with Time around four months ago, Tatsumi Kimishima, president of Nintendo, hinted that “It’s something unique and different.”

He added, “It’s something where we have to move away from those platforms in order to make it something that will appeal to our consumer base.” Hopefully, Nintendo will shed some light regarding the console soon.
