Right after the rumor about the upcoming Nintendo NX being a hybrid console surfaced, one of the biggest game developer supporters of the Japanese company, Ubisoft, is saying that it has several other titles coming up and intended for the new gaming device.
Although there is still is no official word or any sort of update on how the console will be equipped, both on hardware and software, there are already four games confirmed, according to Metro. These games are “Dragon Quest X,” “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” “Dragon Quest XI,” and recently, “Just Dance.”
For now, “Just Dance” may be the only official Ubisoft entry to the upcoming gaming hybrid console, but the company’s European head, Alain Corre, revealed via a recent interview that they will be making more revelations in the immediate future. “We have other surprises that we will announce later, but we also believe Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing,” he said.
Unfortunately, Corre did not elaborate on the revelation, but the fact that Ubisoft is obviously excited to work with Nintendo’s upcoming device is more than enough to get fans excited. To recall, it has been a while since the Japanese consumer electronics company made waves in the gaming industry. As a matter of fact, it fell into obscurity the past several years, giving in to the pressure of competition from Microsoft and Sony, both of which have been dominating the market with the PlayStation and Xbox.
At this point, eager fans who are waiting for the console to be finally released now have a reason to be doubly excited considering that Ubisoft has practically promised more games. It’s too early to speculate as to what games those would be, but it’s fair to say that the surprise element will make everything a lot more interesting in the next several months.
