Nexus 5 2015 leaked image reveals front speakers, camera bulge, polycarbonate back, and laser autofocus

New rumors surfaced regarding the new Nexus 5 2015 as a Twitter post appeared showing the photo of the device.

In the post, Marques Brownlee said: “Apparently this is the new Nexus. Looks fine from this angle. Give us more, Mr Blurricam!” along with a photo of the back panel of the phone.

He also gave his verdict on the possible specs – “Dope” for Polycarbonate back and Laser autofocus and “Eh” for the camera bulge, possibly indicating that he has a few reservations about the design.  The no rear speaker got a “good”.

Although earlier speculations said that the newest Nexus will tie up with Huawei, if the photo is legit, the leak shows a photo of a device potentially produced by LG. Nonetheless, other rumors say that the Nexus 5 2015 will be produced by both Huawei and LG, where the former will showcase a 5.7-inch Nexus 5 variant while the latter will sport a 5.2-inch model.

Other details regarding the phone indicate that Nexus 5 2015 from LG will be from the new concept designer Jermaine Smit, where a pianistic melody runs in the background. The new handset will have a protruding camera, similar to the comment of Brownlee in his Twitter, along with a USB type C port, finger print sensor, and a dual speaker in front.

The flagship phone is also said to bring a new operating system, Android M. It is unconfirmed what M will mean, although several instances indicated that it will be “Marshmallow.” There are very few details about the 2015 edition but now it is confirmed that the new Nexus and Android M will be a tandem, according to Geek Snack. As Android M may be released at the third quarter of this year instead of fourth quarter, Nexus 5 2015 edition may also come in the third quarter, even if Google normally releases their handset during fourth quarter of the year.

No official statement has been released from the company yet.
