Megan Fox is the new girl in “New Girl,” and her first episode aired on FOX on Tuesday.
In the previous sneak peek, Fox introduced her new character, Reagan, whose substituting for Jess in the series, while Zooey Deschanel is on her maternity leave.
“Reagan is a pharmaceutical rep so she travels a lot and her company is putting her up at a really terrible hotel,” Fox dished out about her character in the comedy series’ fifth season.
Nick, who is played by Jake Johnson, might not miss Jess at all since their new roommate is beautiful.
“My friend and I have a lovely room for rent in our loft downtown,” Nick offered.
“Nick’s got a crush on a girl who is way out of his league,” Winston (Lamorne Morris) told their roommates Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield).
Reagan wasn’t a total stranger for everybody though. She recognized Cece from 2003 MTV Beach House and revealed an interesting romantic mystery.
“Of course I went for you,” Reagan told Cece, leaving her fianc Schmidt in a not-so-pleased situation.
“New Girl” creator Liz Meriwether sat with Vulture to talk about how they cast Fox as a substitute for Deschanel in this season’s six episodes.
“We knew when we found out that Zooey was going to be gone for six episodes we wanted to bring somebody in,” Meriwether explained. “Jake [Johnson, who plays Nick] had worked with Megan on ‘Friends With Kids’ and had a great experience with her. So we worked on a character that was for her that also worked for us and what we wanted to do on the show this season.”
Catch Megan Fox and the rest of the “New Girl” characters every Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. ET on FOX.
