'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers: Team discovers connection to international warfare in episode 8

This week on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Callen (Chris O’Donnell) went undercover to find a missing NSA agent, while Kensi (Daniela Ruah) turned down Deeks’ (Eric Christian Olsen) proposal.

An NSA agent was found dead and inside the body of a shark, and when the team found out that another NSA analyst had been missing for three days, they took action and tracked the missing man’s whereabouts. They found him at a mental institution, and later a friend of Deeks’ told him that a drug cartel is putting people in the shark-infested ocean so they would talk.

It appears that the analyst, whose name is Dill (Jed Rees), knows vital information, and Callen volunteered to go undercover as a patient in the hospital. Later, some members of the drug cartel broke into the hospital and took Callen, thinking that he was Dill. The thugs took him straight to the ocean, and they chummed the water to bait the sharks to get him to talk. Thanks to the GPS tracker on Callen, Sam (LL Cool J) and his former Navy SEAL teammate were able to track him down and save him from the sharks.

Meanwhile, Kensi was getting frustrated due to her slow progress, but she was determined to be on her feet again. In the hospital, Deeks tried to propose to her, but she told him that he shouldn’t do this now, as she doesn’t know if she will be able to walk again.

Next week, in the episode titled “Parallel Resistors,” the NCIS team discovers a connection to international warfare after a graduate student developing an electromagnetic weapon for the Navy is attacked.

Elsewhere in the episode, Kensi continues grueling physical therapy for her spinal injury.

In the promo for the episode, groups of people are enjoying game night at a bar when a player hits the buzzer and it gives off an electric shock, causing the man to fall to the ground. Later, Sam and Callen break into a house and they find a young girl who appears to be suffering from asthma. At the hospital, Sam gently tells the girl that if she knows something, she can tell them whatever secret she’s keeping. But it looks like Sam and Callen are in for a chase as a group of men kidnaps the girl in broad daylight.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
