The team of NCIS: Los Angeles will be set against one of their own when season 7 premieres.
According to Enstarz, CBS has released a synopsis for the premiere episode, and the description said that Callen will be going solo with the rest of the team sent in to retrieve him from this dangerous mission “at any cost.”
The premiere will also be titled ‘Active Measures,’ and will be a time jump of three months after the events of the Season 6 finale episode.
It appears that the conflict between Callen and the rest of the team will not just be with words, as Enstarz said that the synopsis also indicated that Sam and Callen will soon find themselves confronting each other over a dead body, literally.
Sam and Hetty will also threaten to shoot Callen if he continues to resist, as was seen in the recently released trailer.
Callen’s behavior is triggered by his desire to investigate and find out the truth about his father’s apparent death, which was revealed to him at the previous season’s finale. According to Design and Trends, Callen will encounter a person from his past and will be driven to undertake his own investigation, but this will lead to friction with the team.
Hetty will be a prime source of conflict, as she is opposed to Callen’s search for his father.
“He finds himself in a very difficult situation with Hetty and Sam (LL Cool J), because he’s not telling them what he’s got himself caught up in,” the show’s executive producer Shane Brennan told TV Guide.
The showrunner also revealed that the events of the premiere will impact the entire season up until the middle of its run.
“In the tradition of this show, we plant the seeds of something to come, and it has a fairly major impact halfway through the season, in a double-episode,” Brennan explained.
