'NCIS LA' season 7 spoilers: Sam finds his family in Africa; Callen heads to Mexico to track down survivor of a shootout

Following what could be an emotional week for viewers of “NCIS: Los Angeles” after the reveal of G. Callen’s (Chris O’Donnell) name, the next installment seemingly revolves around the theme of family.

When Callen met his father Garrison (Daniel J. Travanti) face-to-face and helped him escape from Russia, he also shared that his sons name is actually Grisha Aleksandrovich Nikolaev. After their brief reunion, the new episode will also delve into another family.

Titled “Revenge Deferred,” the team found out after extensive surveillance that Sam Hanna’s (LL Cool J) family is in Africa. Sam and Callen will fly to the continent to know who is behind the relocation and for what purpose. The family will be then moved from their current home to a safer house. Actress Ella Thomas will return as Jada Khaled.

The promotional trailer has Sam asking some questions to Tahir Khaled (Anslem Richardson). He then starts a fight with him later on. Meanwhile, Hetty (Linda Hunt) calls Callen and orders him and Sam to go back to Los Angeles. The former disagrees and said that he just cannot abandon the latter to which Hetty replies with, “If it keeps him alive, let him hate me.”

Another footage shows Granger (Michael Ferrer) assuring Sam that his family is fine and they have been set up in a safe house, with the location only known to him and two former members of Sam’s SEAL team.

Meanwhile, next week’s episode will tackle the some problems that involving a survivor of a shoot out.

Dubbed “Black Budget,” Callen and Sam will head to Mexico to track down the only employee who managed to escape a professional shooting that happened at the Department of Defense. The rest of the team on the other hand will try to uncover the motive behind the shooting. Among the guest stars are magician Bill Malone and John Billingsley.

Episode 17 “Revenge Deferred” is slated to air on Feb. 29 at 8pm EST, to be followed by episode 18 “Black Budget” next week on March 5 at the same time.
