After only a few months with the Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lin may find himself with a new team as rumors are rife that he is set to be traded to the Chicago Bulls.
According to report by Realty Today, the Bulls are in need of a back up point guard and are eyeing Linsanity as the perfect player to fit the bill on their team.
Lin has so far been performing well with the Hornets, averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 assists, three rebounds and 0.5 steals per game.
The Hornets meanwhile, are looking to acquire veteran point guard Kirk Hinrich in exchange for Lin.
If the trade pushes through, both teams will get a more balanced line up and the Hornets also get two first round draft picks as part of the deal.
Also regarding the Chicago Bulls, another superstar is rumored to be traded off and its none other than Derrick Rose.
According to Bleacher Report, the team may be considering letting go of their young superstar because of his sports injury history and the $41.4 million salary due him before his contract expires. The report indicated that the management may be reeling from the expense especially given the time Rose has spent healing from his torn ACL and his less than stellar performance on court in recent games.
The same report also indicated that the Memphis Grizzlies may be interested to snap up Mario Chalmers once his contract expires.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Grizzlies may be looking to replace Beno Udrih in their lineup.
“Season’s first bit of NBA trade scuttle dribbles in: ESPN sources say Grizzlies have discussed potential deal for Miami’s Mario Chalmers,” Stein tweeted.
“No trade imminent yet, I’m told, but sources say that the Grizzlies and Heat have discussed a potential Chalmers-to-Memphis swap,” he said in another tweet.
