'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4' update: Video game comes out in February

Game company Bandai Namco will finally release the much-awaited “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.” The final game in the “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm” saga is set for release on Feb. 4 in Japan, Feb. 5 in Europe, and Feb. 9 in North America for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The CyberConnect 2-developed game features the main characters that are found in “The Last: Naruto The Movie,” the final saga.

CyberConnect2 president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama was interviewed by Siliconera last year about some the games’ surprise features. It includes switching leader characters within the battle and the wall fighting comeback.

“Since some players will have a two person team and others a three man cell, we wanted to balance this by only having one life gauge between all characters,” Mr. Matsuyama said. “If you activate Awakening mode, that stays active when you switch leader characters too. It’s possible to have a Tailed Beast Ball combo attack where Shukaku attacks first then Kurama can come out right away.”

“We are still thinking about how we can adjust wall fighting so it works for players,” he added. “One idea we are considering is to only have wall fighting for boss battles if we cannot get it to feel right for free battles.”

Just in time for the release of the final game, Bandai Namco also announced the release of the first three games in the “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Collection,” which are set to come out on Feb. 5 in Europe, Middle-East, Australia, Asia and Africa.

“Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 1,” “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2,” and “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst” will all be available exclusively for PS3 in one box.

“Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4” will be available in video game and online stores for $59.99.

“Naruto” is a Japanese manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto.
