Well, one big revelation in “Mr. Robot” season 2 was the fact that Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrm) is alive. He’s not a figment of Elliot Alderson’s (Rami Malek) imagination. After all, he did shoot Elliot after he was goaded to do so. What happens next?
Sources say Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) is going to do whatever is necessary to clear her husband’s name in “Mr. Robot” season 3. It should be noted that Tyrell was the main suspect in the Five/Nine Hack which was designed to destabilize the financial markets with E Corp as its primary target. He has been hiding from the public after the hack only to reappear to tell Elliot that “Stage 2 awaits.”
In an interview with Decrypted, Ars Technica’s “Mr. Robot” podcast, Corneliussen said she’s hoping for a reunion between the two.
“I know for a fact, because I know her intimately, that she’s missed him quite a bit. I would love to see what happens when and if Tyrell is reunited, and all of a sudden he schleps Elliot through the door and goes ‘By the way, have you met?’ ‘Yep.'”
Meanwhile, several reports say Elliot is going to change in the upcoming season and another personality is going to take over. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month, “Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail did say that the things that Elliot went through would change him.
“It’s the Elliot we’ve seen go through this horrific experience from the first and second seasons, and with all of that in mind, that’s going to make this new Elliot come into fruition in the next season,” Esmail said.
Was he talking about a different personality when he made the statement? Or was he talking about changes in Elliot’s attitude? That’s something to ponder on.
“Mr. Robot” season 3 will premiere sometime in 2017.
