The USA Network recently revealed a new teaser trailer for the upcoming new season of their hit technological thriller series “Mr. Robot.”

While the new teaser trailer for the much awaited season 2 of “Mr. Robot” teased that the upcoming season will once more deal with the battle for change through the use of modern technology and the refusal to submit to the norms of society, the trailer did not spoil any of the plot points of the first season, just in case someone new to the show will stumble upon the trailer.

Previously, “Mr. Robot” series creator Sam Esmail revealed that the upcoming second season would take on the themes of privacy and data encryption, which were also the themes of the pilot season.

“It’s not something that I think people really understand the nuances of, but it’s going to be interesting public discourse about it, because it really brings up the idea of the rights to privacy and do we have them, do we not?” Esmail said.

He also teased the changes that Elliot will undergo after he discovered the identity of Mr. Robot.

“Now that Elliot is aware [of the truth about Mr. Robot], that has opened the door. We’re literally externalizing Elliot’s mentality and his inner conflict, Mr. Robot being the other half of Elliot,” Esmail added. “In the first season, because Elliot wasn’t aware, there was a mystery about who Mr. Robot was and what his real motivations were. Now we know, so what does that mean? What does Elliot really want?”

Aside from being the show’s creator, Esmail would have his hands completely filled for this season, as he would also write, produce, and direct not only one or a number of episodes, but all 10 episodes of the second season.

“Mr. Robot” returns on the USA Network sometime this year.
