Filming of season 2 of USA Network’s psychological thriller “Mr. Robot” has officially started. On March 7, Sam Esmail, creator of the series, gave this update through his Twitter account by posting a photo of their first shooting day.
Likewise, a spoiler was released by USA Network by posting an update on the cast members. It confirmed comedian Craig Robinson will also be part of the new series. He will portray the role of Ray, a neighbor of Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), who will be of help when Elliot is in need.
Additional spoilers were earlier released by USA Network which reported that Stephanie Corneliussen and Michael Cristofer will now be seen regularly in the series. Both were included as regular cast members, together with Grace Gummer, which was confirmed earlier. Corneliussen, playing the role of Joanna, the wife of Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom), was a guest in The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” Cristofer will then play the role of Phillip Price, the CEO of Evil Corp. On the other hand, Gummer will be playing the role of an FBI agent assigned to investigate the Evil Corp hack.
The report also revealed the other new cast members. Rapper Joey Bada$$ will join the show as Leon, a close friend of Elliot who “will advise him while philosophizing the meaning of life.” Chris Conroy will also be included to play the role of Derek, the “young and attractive new man in Joanna Wellick’s life.”
In another post, writer Courtney Looney described how things go inside the writers’ room of “Mr. Robot.” Looney said, “It’s great because when we’re in the writers’ room and we’re talking things through, Esmail already has the idea of how he’s going to visualize things and put them on the screen.”
