There is no arguing that “Mr. Robot” has taken television by storm since debuting last year on the USA Network. Given this, it does not also take too much to presume that the series has garnered a solid fan base in its first season on the air, but one specific fan has made lead star Rami Malek starstruck when he visited.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 35-year-old actor shared the time when Robert Downey Jr. visited the set of “Mr. Robot,” which basically left him overwhelmed.

“We had Robert Downey Jr. (RDJ) come to the set the other day. He loves the show,” Malek gushed. “Obviously, I have been so inspired by him. That’s just a role model for any actor and to have him come and want to see some of the show and hanging out and talk is just a huge compliment.”

The highest paid actor in Hollywood now joins an impressive roster of “Mr. Robot” fans. This includes President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle, “Mad Men’s” Don Draper himself Jon Hamm, and late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Aside from a short chat with RDJ, he was also able to squeeze in a question of whether he will be game do an appearance for “Mr. Robot’s” third season.

“I asked him if he would consider doing anything in season three,” Malek said with a grin. “He didn’t rule it out.”

Should the Marvel icon and the show sort out the business side of things, RDJ will follow Mr. Obama, whose cameo in the critically acclaimed show can be seen in the trailers. And although the president’s short stint in “Mr. Robot” is just lifted footage from a previous press conference and the voice has been dubbed by someone else, Mr. Obama still had to approve it before the series could have used his name.

Other notable actors that creator Sam Esmail is supposedly looking to put on board the hacking-themed show includes Michael Shannon. In a separate interview, Malek dished that the Egyptian-American showrunner is looking at the “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor to play a role in their third season. Interestingly, this will be a good case of Marvel and DC actors coming together to the small screen, if everything also goes well with RDJ.

“Mr. Robot” season 2 will premiere on July 13, 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network.
