The new Motorola Moto X Force, dubbed as the “world’s first shatterproof smartphone”, is now available for pre-order in the UK region, and in some parts of Asia. The device is already available in the US via carrier Verizon, and is known as the Motorola Droid 2 Turbo.
Users in the UK region can opt to pre-order their Motorola Moto X Force from online retailer Handtec. The device is available for pre-order for a price of 497.99, or around $768 in equivalent. The retailer is offering the 32 GB variant of the Moto X Force in black. The site lists the Moto X Force with an expected delivery date of November 9.
Additionally, another online retailer Carphone Warehouse is offering the Moto X Force for pre-orders. The site lists the device for pre-order for a price of 529.99, or at least $817 in equivalent. The site also offers the device for a lay away installment program, starting from plans of 37.50or an equivalent of at least $57per month. The black variant of the device form the retailer is expected to ship starting November 10.
The new Moto X Force has a 5.43-inch display with 1440×2560 Quad HD resolution, boasting to be the world’s first smartphone with a shatterproof display, all thanks to the equipped Moto ShatterShield technology on the display, which is guaranteed not to crack for up to four years, all thanks to five layers of integrated protection system preventing impact to inflict any form of damage to the device.
The device runs under a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, and packs a 3 GB worth of LPDDR4 RAM, along with two variants of either 32 GB or 64 GB worth of built-in internal storage capacity. It supports microSD external expansion of up to 2 TB worth, or at least up to whatever capacity is the largest available as of the moment. The Moto Maker personalization feature is rumored to be incorporated for the Moto X Force.
As for the camera, a 21 megapixels rear camera is present, featuring support for zero shutter delay, coupled with a 5 megapixels front camera with a LED flash besides it.
It boots on Android Lollipop. And with the TurboPower fast charging feature, the 3,760 mAh battery can be charged for 13 hours’ worth of power in just a matter of 15 minutes.
