Motorola Moto G 2015 updates: Chilean carrier to release device August

Another one of Motorola’s upcoming smartphone models is hot on the rumor mill recently. The all-new Moto G, unofficially called by users as the Moto G 2015, has had its share of rumors and leaks recently.

Latest reports said that the new Moto G 2015, codenamed Osprey, might be coming very soon along with another Motorola handset. According to a report by Softpedia News, Chilean carrier Entel will launch the Motorola Moto X Sport and the “Nuevo” Moto G (or “new”) in August. Both devices rumored to be coming are running under quad-core CPUs.

Just recently, an anonymous tipster sent an alleged image of the upcoming Moto G 2015 to Techno Buffalo. The image revealed nothing new, but went in line with what other previous leaks showed. The new Moto G 2015 will sport and improved design compared to its predecessor 2014 model.

Earlier leaks showed a supposedly actual unit of the Motorola Moto G 2015, and its basic hardware and software specs. Basing from the said leak, which had a video uploaded on YouTube, the Moto G 2015 is tipped to be running under a 1.36GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, with 1GB worth of RAN, 8GB of built-in internal memory, and support for an external microSD expansion (limit still unknown). It may very well have a 5-inch wide display, with a 720p HD resolution.

As for the camera and the software side, the Moto G 2015 is rumored to be coming with a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, equipped with dual LED flash, and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The Moto G 2015 is rumored to come running on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box.

Just like in the past, the upcoming handset will have an interchangeable back cover. Several designs have already been spotted on listings over Ali Express.
