Moto X Style, Moto 360 2nd Gen release date, specs: pre-orders start in the UK


The new Motorola Moto X Style as well as the second generation of the Moto 360 smartwatch is now available for pre-order in the UK region.

The Moto X Style (aka Moto X Pure Edition in the US) sports a 5.7″ TFT LCD display, with a stunning 1440p Quad HD (1440×2560) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a feature-rich 21 megapixels rear camera (which can record videos of up to 4K resolution), and a 5 megapixels front snapper. The phone is equipped with an IP52 certified water repellant Nano-coating. The device is powered by an All Day Batter of 3000mAh capacity. It also has a TurboPower Charging feature, boasting to give 10 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging time.

It packs 3 GB worth of LPDDR3 RAM, and is available on two variants of either 16 GB or 64 GB worth of built-in internal storage, with support for an external microSD expansion of up to 128 GB worth. It runs under a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset, along with an Adreno 418 GPU.

The Moto X Style boots on Android Lollipop 5.1.1.

On the other hand, the second generation of the Moto 360 smartwatch brings in most of the same features found on the first Moto 360 smartwatch, but significantly improving on some. Now, the new Moto 360 offers three different size variants, with two variants aimed for men.  One bears a 42mm case with a 20mm wristband, and the other has a 46mm diameter case with a 22mm band. The women’s design has a 42mm case with a smaller 16mm wristband.

Battery life also depends on the size of the Moto 360 variant. The men’s 42mm and the women’s variant pack a 300mAh battery, while the larger 46mm men’s variant has a bigger 400mAh battery, which boasts 2-days’ worth of power with mixed usage.

The Moto X Style is available for 399.00, while the new Moto 360 is available for 299.00.
