'Mortal Kombat X' Kombat Pack 3 release date: Noob Saibot and Baraka included in playable roster? Could arrive after 'Injustice 2'

Despite NetherRealm Studios seeming lack of announcement regarding the much-awaited downloadable content, “Kombat Pack 3” for “Mortal Kombat X,” it has not stopped fans from speculating what may be included in the expansion.

According to reports, game director Ed Boon apparently asked fans about additional characters they would like to appear in the game. The results reportedly include Noob Saibot, Rain, Fujin, Sindel and Baraka who is a well-known servant to the great Emperor Shao Kahn.

Noob Saibot and Baraka are deemed to be the most requested to appear in the update. It can be recalled that the former has been among the favorites in the franchise due to his teleportation move that players can use to win the fight by using only two buttons. Meanwhile, the latter is a demon crossbreed who is notable due to his unique nature as an Outworld denizen.

Similar to previous “Kombat Packs” which included four new playable characters, the third installment is expected to offer the same. There are also rumors that it could be released after the launch of another popular game from the studio, “Injustice 2.” The latter is allegedly the focus of the developers for the meantime as they might still be busy patching up bugs and improving gameplay.

If this comes to fruition, “Kombat Pack 3” may be launched sometime during the early parts of 2017 since the predicted release for “Injustice 2” is in March 2017. However, since there is no official confirmation yet from the game developer, available information should be taken with a grain of salt.

On a related note, the mobile application is said to receive an update in the form of monster Jason Voorhees. However, the character is only available for a limited amount of time, and the players will require a bit of luck in order to access him. There is also the possibility to add a Katana by entering a limited challenge mode event.
