After Ed Boon, co-creator of the game, Mortal Kombat X posted on his official Twitter page a teaser about the upcoming DLC lined up for the game, the guesswork from fans continues.
The photo he posted on Twitter contains four silhouettes clad with “Who’s next?” across it. Although he said “Here is the official announcement of new downloadable content coming for Mortal Kombat X” on his caption, he did not really reveal the identity of the four characters.
Intrigued fans have been speculating about the four characters as weeks pass by. PlayStation Universe listed its guesses which includes Smoke, Spawn, Baraka, Bo Rai Cho, Alien, Sindel, Fujin, and Noob Saibot for the unique identities and contributions that these characters may offer to the game. The review particularly included Spawn because Todd McFarlane, the artist behind the character, was reported to have given permission for publisher Warner Bros to use his character.
On the other hand, other popular guesses also include Drahmin, Rain, Sindel, and Havik as part of the roster. The first three speculated characters are already in Mortal Kombat X, but not as a playable character yet. Meanwhile, Venture Capital Post expressed that one of the silhouettes looks like Wolverine from Marvel Cinematic Universe. Is it possible that Wolverine will also join the Mortal Kombat X fighters?
The DLC is expected to come in the first half on 2016 with four new playable characters, along with new skins and new environments for Mortal Kombat X. As both NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros remain mum, the roster continues to grow.
Meanwhile, for the mobile application side of the game, Mortal Kombat X has just added Jason Voorhees on its list. Players can access him by either getting a high score on Jason Multiplayer season or by beating a challenge mode.
