'Mortal Kombat X' DLC release date: Ed Boon confirms there will be no Kombat Pack 3 for game?

Earlier this year, the second Kombat Pack for “Mortal Kombat X” was released, and fans were delighted with the new downloadable content (DLC) as it added four more characters to the game’s already impressive roster. It also brought guest fighters into the fold, and the addition of Xenomorph from the “Alien” movie franchise, Leatherface from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” as well as Triborg and Bo’ Rai Cho proved to be very popular with fans.

It has been six months since Kombat Pack 2 was released, and now, fans are waiting for Kombat Pack 3 and the new features and characters it is expected to bring to the game. While creative director Ed Boon has been very generous with fans with regard to “Mortal Kombat X” updates, it appears that the director has just confirmed that there won’t be a new Kombat Pack for “Mortal Kombat X.”

Boon took to Twitter on Sept. 19 and posted a comic strip depicting a meeting involving the “Mortal Kombat” franchise. While some characters suggested “MKXL for PC” and “Buff some characters” for “Mortal Kombat X,” another character mentioned ” Kombat Pack 3,” which incurred the wrath of team head. In the last frame of the comic strip, the team member who mentioned the third Kombat Pack appears to have been thrown out of the window and is falling down the side of the building. The post was simply captioned, “Kombat Pack 3??”

While Boon has yet to confirm or deny Kombat Pack 3, some of his followers thought that the director was teasing the next DLC, with some asking him to “stop teasing” and “trolling” and to announce the content already.

Fans have been requesting Boon to add more skins, stages, characters, story packs; as well as the addition of Sareena, Noob, Frost, and Fujin to the DLC pack. With the anticipation over Kombat Pack 3 still going on, it’s likely that Boon will give another update about the next DLC for “Mortal Kombat X” in the coming days.
